As co-chairs of PFLAG Lafayette/Tippcanoe County, we invite you to visit our new website we've made avaialble to the community at http://pridelafayette.org/PFLAG/. We offer this new site as the internet portal to our organization and for the PRYSM youth group.
PFLAG stands for Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. PFLAG Lafayette/Tippecanoe County promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. PFLAG Lafayette/Tippecanoe County is the Lafayette, Indiana chapter of an international organization. PFLAG meets the first Thursday of the month from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 333 Meridian in West Lafayette.
PFLAG Lafayette/Tippecanoe County, in conjunction with Pride Lafayette and Citizens for Civil Rights, oversees a local LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) youth group. PRSYM (Positive Reflections of Young Sexual Minorities) is a group for youth that is led by youth under the sponsorship and guidance of the above three organizations. PRYSM meets monthly on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at 6:30PM.
